Planning For the Year Ahead | New Years Inspiration

Embracing the New Year: Inspiration and Intentions for 2025

As I enter 2025, I love reflecting on my past year and setting goals for the year ahead. I’m so excited for a new year full of creative and personal milestones, and feel so inspired to continue to improve my work and live intentionally.

My Business Resolutions: Embracing the Process and Growth

I’ve learned that growth doesn’t just come from the big milestones, but from the quiet moments of discipline and consistency. This year, my business resolutions are focused on building a rhythm that encourages creativity, while also taking the time to enjoy the process—no matter how messy or imperfect it may seem.

1. Weekly Studio Time:
One of my core goals is to dedicate at least one evening per week to my studio. This year, I’m prioritizing time to immerse myself in my work, even if it’s just for a few hours. This space is sacred for my creativity, and I want to keep nurturing it.

2. Custom Commissions:
Over the years, I’ve loved creating custom pieces. There’s something so special about painting something meaningful for someone else, and I want to continue to lean into that. I’m excited to work with clients on commissions that push my boundaries and bring me fresh inspiration.

3. Rug Collaboration Launch:
One of the most exciting projects I’ve been working on is my rug collaboration with the brand Adorn. This project is one we have been working on all of 2024, and this year, we’re finally bringing it to life. I can’t wait to share these pieces with the world—blending art and function in a way that speaks to my design philosophy.

4. Sharing My Process:

So much of my work lives in the "in-between"—the messy, unpolished moments where ideas take shape and evolve. I want to share more about this side of my creative journey. Whether it’s through behind-the-scenes stories, progress shots, or sharing the struggles and triumphs along the way, I’m committed to showing more of the process that goes into making my art. I want people to be able to connect to my work in a more authentic way.

5. Monthly Blogs on Inspiration:
I’m also planning to write more this year—specifically monthly blogs that explore what inspires me as the seasons change. As someone who draws a lot of influence from the world around me and living in Colorado, I want to share how nature, culture, and everyday moments shape my work. These blogs will be a closer look at what fuels my creativity and keeps my business moving forward.

6. Sharing My Personal Style and Lifestyle:
I’m a believer that art isn’t confined to a studio—it’s also in the way we live. I’m passionate about creating an artful, purposeful lifestyle, and I want to show more of that in 2025.

Personal Goals: Exploring, Growing, and Living Fully

For me, personal growth is all about nurturing my soul, strengthening my relationships, and finding balance in my days.

1. Travel & Adventures:
Travel has always been a source of inspiration for me. This year, I’m excited to visit my sister in Charleston—a city I’ve always loved for its charm and history. Another big adventure on our list is a trip to Italy for the first time. I’m excited to explore the art, architecture, and food, and photograph everything along the way.

2. Shooting with Film:
I’ve been wanting to experiment with film photography for a while now, and this year, I’m making it happen. There’s something nostalgic and raw about film that digital photography can’t quite capture, and I’m excited to dive into this medium and see where it takes me. I love printing my photos at the end of each year with Artifact Uprising, and have had so much fun building my collection of annual photo albums over the past few years.

3. Curating a Minimal Wardrobe:
I’ve been slowly building a more minimal wardrobe filled with high quality pieces I truly love and wear often. This year, I’m committed to continuing that journey, curating a wardrobe that reflects my personal style. I love finding fewer but better pieces that stand the test of time.

4. Time at the Lake House:
Spending time with my husband at my in-laws’ lake house always fills me with so much peace and inspiration. I want to spend more weekends there this year, unplugging and recharging by the water. I love slowing down, doing puzzles, reading, and watching sunsets from the boat.

5. Daily Journaling and Scripture Memorization:
I love starting my mornings journaling and reading and I always notice a difference in my days when I skip it. This year I want to memorize more scripture and I’m loving an app I found to help with that called Versify. I’m also working on waking up earlier to have slower mornings and be less rushed.

Here’s to a new year full of growth, adventure, and creativity!
