Studio Stories: March Edition

Welcome, April! I’ve been feeling overwhelmingly grateful lately. I’ve never shared the story on here but will someday. But after almost three years of a lot of health ups and downs, 2026 so far has felt like restoration. Answers, miracles, clear paths forward, and just over and over again seeing God show up in very specific, personal ways. I’ve felt so cared for by Him. And it’s been a sweet month full of mountain weekends, feeling fulfilled with work, cooking, a bestie’s wedding, skiing, and time with friends.

  1. Training our new puppy, Boone, how to run with me <3 we’re not quite there yet but he’s learning. He’s so smart and has made so much progress with training since we got him in November, I’m so proud :’) I wasn’t 100% sure what to expect before we got him because I knew mini Aussies have a ton of energy and we were used to Wilson, our very chill angel 8 year old retriever mix. But Boone has been the perfect addition to our family. I usually never go on TikTok but I’ve been down a mini Aussie training rabbit hole on there the last couple months. He only weighs 15 pounds and is cuddly— he has to be touching one of us at all times. He has just the right amount of puppy energy and I love watching him run with Wilson in the backyard. It makes me so happy to see them play together all day.

  2. This top from my bff’s boutique, Local Honey Co. I am a culprit of accidentally only gravitating towards variations of different white shirts when I shop. But I’m not stopping anytime soon. I am obsessed with this top and everything they sell. Also have been loving this top from AGOLDE.

  3. I re-discovered my go-to appetizer for hosting that I forgot about: Burrata Pesto Caprese. I have been loving hosting friends for happy hour instead of always doing dinner. Sometimes I like eating and fixing apps and fun drinks more than dinner foods. And it’s more casual and laid back, less prep, and we love an earlier bedtime. I also went to a girls night this month to watch the Hannah Montana movie and learned that everyone loves rice crispy treats as much as I do I think... if you’re put in charge of bringing a sweet treat, bring these. Everyone got SO excited when I walked in the door with cereal, butter, and marshmallows.

Life Updates

  1. March’s theme was mountains. We spent a weekend at the beginning of the month with friends in Silverthorne, skiing at Copper, playing games, napping, and eating the best food. Last weekend we went to (very warm and sunny) Crested Butte for one of my closest college friends’ perfect, magical wedding. It was the most beautiful weekend with people who mean the world to me. They had a fun western theme and I got this fur coat from Nuuly.

  2. AJ and I are working on a fun renovation project (really all AJ in our current phase of it) that I’ll share more about soon. It’s been hard for me to be decisive when it comes to choosing finish colors, floors, wood stains, paint colors, all the things. Hoping practice makes perfect and I’m learning more and having so much fun with it. I’ve been re-reading Shea and Syd McGee’s book, Make Life Beautiful, and really want to lean more into interior design whenever I can because I enjoy it so much.

  3. I’ve been loving routines lately. I’ve been trying to simplify life by making more of the same dinners on rotation that we know we love. A few have been hot honey crispy chicken in the air fryer, honey chipotle salmon, orzo pasta salad, and chicken salad. I’ve been getting variations of the same groceries every week and decided to make my life easier and just buy the fruit that’s already cut up. 10/10 recommend. I run the dishwasher and wipe the counters every night and that small routine brings me joy for some reason lol. I’ve been loving waking up earlier and reading, journaling, and making my decaf latte. I cut way back on caffeine over the last year and notice I sleep so much better without it. I’ve been going on walks with my sister’s perfectly curated spring playlist in my headphones. With the weather being so nice I’ve been opening the windows in the morning and turning on my diffuser. I have been trying to be as nontoxic as I can be but love when my house smells good, so I’ve been using my diffuser more with essential oils— I love Aesop.

Studio Updates

  1. I wrapped up a commission this month of Mount Sopris for a family friend and amazing client. Before I start a custom piece, I always make mini options for everyone to align on and make edits if needed before starting the final. Here are the three options I gave my client, she picked the third one!

  2. I launched my Spring Collection, framed original sketches, paintings, and mixed media collages. I experimented with matting, using patterned linens from my fabric collection, and frames I’ve collected over the years in my personal collection. I loved being able to work with my hands, cutting papers, experimenting with new mediums, and pairing wood tones in frames with warmth in my pieces. I went to Pissaro’s exhibit at the Denver Art Museum at the beginning of the year, and was struck by how different some of his work was from each other, yet still felt like him. I felt like it gave me more freedom to try new things, and not always paint the same subject matter, style, etc.

  3. I’ve been working on lots of custom minis this month! Keep them coming, I love working on these.

Happy April and cheers to a beautiful March, thanks for being here!
